Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade’s little girl Kaavia James is growing up so fast! In honor of her first birthday, the actress, 47, posted a heartfelt birthday tribute dedicated to the toddler.
On Thursday, November 7, the Bring It On actress shared a photo of Kaavia wearing a denim dress and pink sneakers while rocking a million dollar smile. “BABY TURNS 1,” she began. “To say this lil nugget came into our lives and changed everything, would be an understatement. @kaaviajames has been such a gift and blessing to our family and literally everyone she meets. Yall, I'm still in shock she's even here much less walking, talking, swimming and eating bacon!”
On the toddler’s Instagram account, which is monitored by her parents, they both shared a hilarious post of Kaavia wishing herself a happy birthday. “I'm 1!!! BYOB. Bring your own bacon, cuz that thick cut maple is all me,” the caption reads.
Back in November 2018, Gabrielle announced the exciting news of her motherhood. In the past, Gabrielle voiced her struggles with fertility including her unfortunate miscarriages.
"For so many women, and not just women in the spotlight, people feel very entitled to know, they ask ‘Do you want kids?’” she said while speaking on dealing with infertility in the spot light. “A lot of people, especially people that have fertility issues, just say ‘no’ because that’s a lot easier than being honest about whatever is actually going on. People mean so well, but they have no idea the harm or frustration it can cause.”
In the past month, the couple has had a lot to celebrate. On Tuesday, October 29, Gabrielle celebrated her 47th birthday with a costume themed party. Many guests showed up for the celebration including The Real host Jeannie Mai and her boyfriend Jeezy, hip hop couple Quavo and Saweetie and more. In honor of his wife’s special day, Dwyane, 37, shared a touching message to Instagram.
“HBD Kaavs MoM,” he wrote. “You deserve all the joy & happiness in the world. Your family adores your hustle and respects your BOSSiness. You keep inspiring me daily to be GREATER! Keep showing our baby girl how a strong, intelligent, beautiful black woman looks. We ❤️ you GUW! #47.”
