Gina Kirschenheiter's soon-to-be ex-husband Matthew has remained a mystery to The Real Housewives of Orange County watchers as he is not featured at all on the popular Bravo program. Who is he and what's he all about behind the scenes? Take a look at 5 things to know about her beau.
Gina filed for a restraining order against Matt on Monday, June 24, after he was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence on Saturday, June 22.
Gina gushed over Matt in a sweet Father's Day Instagram tribute just one week before his arrest. "Happy Father’s Day to two special men in my life, my dad and Matt. Thank you dad for teaching me everything I know and being there for me always! Thank you Matt for being the best dad to our children. Love you both very much ❤️," she wrote.
Gina filed for divorce from Matt in April 2018, but rumors they had reconciled have been swirling ever since she posted a cozy photo of them together over Memorial Day 2019.
Gina and Matthew have a similar education background, as they both graduated from Hofstra University out in Long Island.
The couple got married on May 15th, 2010 only days after she turned 24. They share three children together: two sons named Nicolas and Luca and a daughter named Sienna.

His Hofstra University alumni page shows that he graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor's of Business Administration (B.B.A.). He since went on to work for some major financial heavy hitters including Merrill Lynch and PIMCO Investments.
She was the one who filed for divorce from him on April 2, 2018, months before her season of RHOC premiered. Gina further explained that he wasn't going to be on the show, saying that “His employer did not want him to,” and that "It wasn’t a decision having anything to do with our relationship. Pure timing.” She also denied that it was another woman who caused the downfall of their marriage.
Although Gina and Matthew planned on splitting, she still gave him a ton of props in the process. She complimented him on what a great father he is during an interview over the summer and even posted a video of him spending some quality time with their kids at a local park.
She finally broke down about their divorce, crying hysterically in front of the other women while exclaiming "I’m scared."
