On the television side, the biggest shocker was HBO’s Veep receiving zero nominations, not even one for Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series- Musical or Comedy, for the past five years! Although she and the show have been Emmy darlings for as long as they have been on, the program has yet to receive one Golden Globe award. Insiders are still saying that this shutout was a big deal for the critically acclaimed series.

This includes nods for its stars Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, and Alexander Skarsgaard. Good news as the series was just officially picked up for Season 2.

First time nominees in the movie category are R&B legend Mary J. Blige for her performance in Mudbound, and Ansel Elgort for Baby Driver. Perhaps Ansel and Shailene Woodley can walk the carpet together, given their illustrious history with their hit movies like The Fault in Our Stars & the Divergent series?
