Hilary Duff is reminiscing about the day she said “I Do” to husband Matthew Koma! On Thursday, December 26, the Younger actress, 32, shared exclusive behind-the-scenes photos of the special occasion to her Instagram.
For their reception, Hilary rocked a sparkly gold crop top with matching pants. She paired the look with gold heels and accessories. In several photos, Hilary smiled from ear-to-ear as she posed next to her friends. Another photo was captioned, “H + M 12.21.19,” which referenced Matt and Hilary’s wedding date.
The wedding reception took place at the couple’s home in Los Angeles. “The ceremony started at sunset and they got married inside the house. When the ceremony was over, guests cheered. The reception was in a white tent in the backyard,” the source informed PEOPLE. “Her sister Haylie was very involved in the wedding prep too. Hilary and Haylie are very close.”
For the ceremony, the mom of two rocked a gorgeous off-white gown with cape sleeves. During an interview with Vogue, Hilary opened up about the details that went into making her dream dress. “I sat down with my stylist, Jessica Paster, and we went through many designers and looked at their aesthetics, and together we settled on Jenny Packman,” the actress revealed. “Her work is so beautiful.”
Hilary also revealed that her dress contained their children’s initials.
“There’s a sweet little embroidery with our initials. There’s an M&H with the date of our wedding,” she said before adding, “There’s initials for our kids. They’re part of our ceremony and, obviously, the biggest part of our life. Maybe someday Banks will want to wear my dress and she can add to it.”
Matthew, 32, popped the question to Hilary 7 months after they welcomed their 1-year-old daughter in October 2018. While posting to social media, Matthew wrote, “I asked my best friend to marry me.” Matthew serves as a stepfather to Hilary’s son 7-year-old son, Luca, whom she shares with ex-husband, Mike Comrie.
