Jennifer Aniston joined Instagram following peer pressure from her Friends costars after the 25th anniversary of the show! The actress shared her first post on October 15 and followed her ex-husband Justin Theroux.
Jen, 50, shared a selfie from her reunion with her Friends costars David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox as her first post.
“And now we’re Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM ??,” she captioned the photo.
In her biography it said, “My friends call me Jen.”
Jen’s introduction comes after her Friends costars celebrated their 25th anniversary on September 19. “Celebrating a Thursday night 25 years ago. Thank you to all of our loyal fans across the world. You’ve certainly been there for us! I love these guys! @_schwim_ @lisakudrow @mleblanc #seriouslyjen? #youtoomatthew #friends,” Courtenay, 55, wrote on Instagram. Lisa, 56, had a similar caption and used the hashtag “COME ON ALREADY JEN.”
“You don’t have to # me anymore,” Jen commented on Matt’s post from the anniversary after she created her account.
Naturally, she followed all of her Friends costars, except Matthew Perry who still has yet to get on the social media app. She also followed other costars from recent projects like Adam Sandler whom she stars alongside in Murder Mystery and Reese Witherspoon whom she stars in the upcoming series Morning Show.
The actress caught attention for following her ex-husband Justin, 48. The pair got married in 2015 but split in 2017. They seemingly remained close and reunited in July when their dog, Dolly, passed away. Justin shared a sweet tribute to their loved one and showed pictures of him and Jen holding hands over the animal.
Despite their friendly relationship, Justin did not immediately follow her back on Instagram. He did, however, comment, "Woot-Woot! ??❤️ #first."
Jen teased that she would be joining Instagram during an interview with her Morning Show costar Reese, 43, on October 13. “It's something that is a part of our world now and it's not going away,” she told ET.
The actress revealed Reese has gotten her to see the benefits of having social media. “You can actually have a little bit more control over the narrative that's out there,” Jen admitted. "You can right some wrongs and some silly things that, God knows, are said often."
But when pressed about whether she would make an account she simply shrugged, “Maybe. You never know.”
