Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are one step closer to tying the knot! The couple is planning to get married sometime this summer.
A source recently dished to Us Weekly that Jennifer, 50, and Alex, 44, "are getting married this summer." The "Get Right" songstress and the retired baseball player announced their engagement in March 2019. They celebrated their two-year anniversary together just a month prior.
Both Alex and Jennifer shared a photo of her glistening ring on their Instagram feeds at the time. "She said yes ♥️," he captioned a closeup of Jennifer's massive sparkler. On her photo, Jennifer simply captioned it with an array of red heart emojis. The proposal occurred during the duo's scenic tropical vacation in the Bahamas.
In September 2019, J.Lo and A-Rod hosted their engagement party in Los Angeles. At the time, Jennifer opened up about their wedding plans to Entertainment Tonight saying, “We're talking about it, but we don't have any firm plans... and we're talking about a lot of places to get married in, but I don't know yet." When asked about a solid wedding date, the Bronx native added, "We can't narrow it down yet.”
An insider revealed to Life & Style in March 2019 about the Hustlers star and her beloved's upcoming wedding. “She’s decided this should be the most star-studded, opulent ceremony that will go down in history as the most lavish celebrity wedding of all time,” the source said. “She’s aware it’ll be a fine line between classy and over-the-top so she’s working with a team of high-end planners and lifestyle experts to weigh up options." The insider added, “Right now, they’re toying over venues such as The Bahamas, The Hamptons, Hawaii or even a private island. ... Money’s no object whatsoever and she’s willing to wait if it guarantees her the ultimate guest list."
The ex-Yankee player and the mother of two started dating in 2017. They made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala that year.
Jennifer was previously married to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd and Marc Anthony. She and Marc, 51, share 11-year-old twins together named Max and Emme.
Alex married Cynthia Scurtis in 2002 and they divorced in 2008. The two share daughters Natasha, 15, and Ella, 11.
