Jennifer Lopez shed some light on her much-publicized romantic life in a new interview with InStyle. The December cover girl posed semi-nude for the sexy spread but she also opened up about her past relationship with Ben Affleck. Ben & Jen were deemed the super couple of the 2000s decade and their relationship coined the term "Bennifer." They dated from 2002 to 2004 and were even engaged, but called off the wedding due to the high amount of media attention.

The "Jenny From The Block" told the fashion magazine about their coupling and about how hard dating was way back when. "It was actually worse then. It was just crazy."

"Now at least I can show you who I am a little bit. Back then you just believed anything you read on the cover of a tabloid. Many times it wasn't true, or it was like a third of the truth."

The mother of two believed that social media is a reason why her and A-Rod's relationship is not a tabloid target. "Now people get to see that this guy they thought was this hard-nosed athlete is, like, a goofy dad who loves his kids and celebrates his girlfriend," she said.

The Maid In Manhattan star also believed that while today's celebs have to deal with social media, they "didn't live through the tabloid era."
