Pop the champagne because Jesse McCartney is engaged! The "Beautiful Soul" singer popped the question to his longtime girlfriend Katie Peterson.
Jesse, 32, asked his ladylove, 32, to be his wife on September 13 at Cut by Wolfgang Puck at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.The couple was having dinner with a group of friends, who were there to witness the big event.
A source relayed the night's events to Us Weekly and dished on the special night.The eyewitness said that In the middle of their meal, chef Wolfgang Puck entered the restaurant and Jesse got on one knee to propose. The whole room fell silent and then wildly applauded.The new husband and wife-to-be drank champagne and munched on sliders, melon salad, ribeye, peach pie, and more for their celebratory dinner.
Earlier that day, Katie took to her Instagram Stories to share a few sweet snaps of her and Jesse getting manicures together.
The Summerland star and Katie have been dating since 2012. Their engagement seemed to fall near their anniversary. The two began dating on September 14 and made their public debut in 2013.
The "She's No You" crooner previously dated stars Hayden Panettiere, Danielle Panabaker and Katie Cassidy. Katie is an actress who has appeared in films such as Step Up Revolution, Girls Gone Dead and The Row. She is also the creator of the company, The Rebel Blonde.
Jesse returned from a four-year break from music in May 2018. He spoke with OK! Magazine about his decision to head back into the industry and his relationship with Katie. “I love music. That’s what I do... it pulls you back in.” At the time, he released is first single since 2014, “Better With You.” The single was about Katie and the pair's relationship. Some of the lyrics include, "I was a wreck when you came along/ When there was nothing left/You showed me the best/ I'm still a mess but you hold on/ Don't know just why you do/ But I know I'm better with you."
