Joaquin Phoenix is the latest actor to take on the role of DC super-villain the Joker. Most famously Heath Ledger starred in the role followed by Jared Leto. The actor has just begun filming for the movie which is set to come out next year. After looking at these first-look photos, our only question is, "why so serious?"
The actor, 43, looked absolutely terrifying in the villain costume.
Joaquin wore a bright green wig with a bald cap.
His eyebrows were drawn on red along with the Joker's signature exaggerated smile.
