John Cena split up from Nikki Bella just days before his 41st birthday. But as opposed to moping about, he is using the gym to cope with his split. The two were set to wed May 5, but they announced they were ending their relationship, nearly a year after John proposed at Wrestlemania 33 in front of thousands of fans.

The professional wrestler and actor shared clips of himself deadlifting 500 pounds! Of course, John is a beast in the gym, and it’s actually pretty incredible how he got into lifting.

In Men’s Journal, John, who is jacked at 6’1, 240 pounds, admits he used to be 155 pounds. From 15-years-old to 16-years-old, he went from 155 pounds to 215 pounds! After getting bullied at a young age, he was motivated to start lifting weights.

Meanwhile, John doesn’t seem too miserable following his breakup, and it was reported that he and Nikki called it quits because of his unwillingness to start a family, which he has been vocal about in the past.

“While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives," Nikki said at the time.
