Jon Hamm just gave Mad Men fanatics a pang of nostalgia. The Baby Driver star made an appearance at Kiernan Shipka’s 20th birthday party on November 10. Jon, 48, and Kiernan, 20, starred as Don and Sally Draper, respectively, on the hit show Mad Men from 2007 to 2015. Their reunion left fans missing the AMC series, but happy to see the mercurial father-daughter duo back together since the series ended in 2015.
Kiernan shared a black-and-white photo of her and Jon on November 10. The 20-year-old flashed a peace sign and made a kissing face for the camera, while the Bad Times At The El Royale actor leaned into the shot. “Dad showed up!!!” the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina actress captioned the picture.
Mad Men fans were thrilled to see the Drapers back together again. "OMG!!!! This awesome, the Draper's are together again!!!! love both!!!!" one fan wrote. “SALLY BETH DRAPER OH MY GOD,” someone else reacted. “This reunion is everything,” a third chimed in, with a crying emoji.
“I hope this time he didn't forget the cake. Happy birthday,” one fanatic wrote, referring to an early episode of Mad Men where Don Draper fails to bring a cake to celebrate Sally’s birthday. “The Drapers reunite!” another wrote. A wishful fan commented that they wished Betty, Sally's mother and Don's wife, was there.
January Jones, who played the matriarch of the Draper family on the hit AMC show was also supposed to celebrate Kiernan’s birthday, but was unable to make it. “I’m missing this ones birthday party tonight” she captioned a photo of her and Kiernan. “I’m so proud of you @kiernanshipka I feel somewhat responsible for you little one.
She continued, “You have become such a success in life and in this silly world we call work. I couldn’t have asked for a better on screen daughter/partner in crime. Known you since you were 6! Happy 20th!!! Love Mom,” she wrote, with a winking face emoji.
According to IMDb, Mad Men follows “one of New York's most prestigious ad agencies at the beginning of the 1960s, focusing on one of the firm's most mysterious but extremely talented ad executives, Donald Draper.” During the series' tenure, it won five Golden Globes, two of which went to Jon for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama.
