Josiah Duggar may have just broken a big Duggar courtship rule. On Wednesday, the Counting On star shared a picture of him enjoying what looked like alone time with his girlfriend, which as Duggar fans know, is a HUGE Duggar no-no!
The 21-year-old shared this snap of him having a Facetime date with his girlfriend, Lauren Swanson. “Anyone who knows me knows that I’ve always been a talker. ☺ But now I love being a listener, too. ❤ #facetimewiththebest,” he captioned the sweet screenshot.
While the post seems innocent enough, it’s the fact that no chaperone is anywhere in sight that has some wondering, is an unchaperoned Facetime date allowed?
The Duggars adhere to a strict set of courtship rules, which includes (but is not limited to): no kissing, no handholding, no full hugs (side-hugs only), and no unchaperoned dates. The family also monitors calls between Duggars who are courting.
With the couple being on Facetime, seemingly alone with no phone monitors, it seems they are breaking away from the Duggar courtship rules and possibly doing their own thing.
Josiah and Lauren announced their courtship last month. Since then, the two have been inseparable as they shared a romantic vacation to Australia and New Zealand together (Lauren accompanied Josiah’s family trip), and Josiah has shared numerous pics of the two spending time together.
