Kanye West took yet another jab at Kim Kardashian's ex Kris Humphries during his appearance on James Corden's Late Late Show segment "Airpool Karaoke." The rapper and the basketball player have a long history of feuding over the reality star and we've rounded up some of the best moments throughout the years.
Kanye, 42, explained to the TV host that he thought "marriage years are different than human years" before likening them to "dog years" during their discussion. "Every marriage is like 100 years. It’s like 500 years of marriage," he said about his five year union with Kim, 39. He revealed that he believed people "thought it would be uncool” for him to get married before changing his mind.
The British TV personality didn't agree. "No one ever thought it would be uncool to marry Kim Kardashian. Everybody thought it would be cool to marry Kim Kardashian," James joked. "Not Kris Humphries!” Kanye quipped, referencing Kris and Kim's brief 72-day marriage.
Kanye revealed on Khloe Kardashian's show Kocktails with Khloe in 2016 that he bought a phone specifically to try and stop Kim from marrying the NBA star after he learned about their engagement. "I got a phone because somebody decided they wanted to marry Kris Humphries," he told Khloe. "I wasn't up to anything and I looked on the Internet, and there was Kim with some extremely tall person. I was like I need to call her or something. I started sending her pictures of, like, certain basketball players that used to be cool that now they wear their pants all the way up to here. Like, 'This is your future,'" he explained. Kanye's efforts were unsuccessful and Kim ultimately walked down the aisle with Kris in August 2011. They split months later in October.
Kanye took a shot at Kris shortly after his marriage to Kim ended when he released "Theraflu" in April 2012. He taunted Kris and insinuated that he could have gotten the Brooklyn Nets star dropped from the team because he was pals with the team's owner Jay-Z. "And I’ll admit, I had fell in love with Kim/Around the same time she had fell in love with him/ Well that’s cool, baby girl, do ya thang/ Lucky I ain’t had Jay drop him from the team," he rapped on one verse.
When Kris inked a reported $24 million contract with the Brooklyn Nets in July 2012 he hopped on Twitter to rub the news in the Yeezy designer's face. "I'm up at Brooklyn! @S_C_ 'lucky I didn't have Jay drop me from the team' lol!" he tweeted.
Kim admitted during an interview on Big Boy's Neighborhood in August 2018 that Kanye had been so upset about her tying the knot with Kris that she hid her ring from him when they had a run-in at an award show while she was still married. "I had my big ring on because I was married, so I’m, like, talking with my ring and I talk with my hands a lot, so I’m talking and I just see him looking at my ring and his face would just, like, get heartbroken. So I sat on my hand for the rest of the dinner and spoke like this with one hand," she recalled.
