Kevin Hart Is Begging His Inner Circle To 'Downplay' His Injuries From Horrifying Car Crash

Kevin Hart is trying not to worry the public with the horrific details of his devasting car crash that occurred earlier this month. The Night School star is also asking his friends and family to "downplay" his injuries to lessen the severity of them.

Just before 1 AM on September 1, Kevin, 40, his wife Eniko Parrish’s personal trainer Rebecca Broxterman and her fiance Jared S. Black were trapped in Kevin’s Plymouth Barracuda when it veered off the road and fell about 10 feet deep in Malibu. The car smashed through the wooden fencing along the roadside and was completely crushed due to the impact. Jared was the one behind the wheel when the incident occurred.

The father of three suffered major back injuries and was hospitalized on September 2. Kevin had to be heavily medicated to deal with pain and was forced to undergo several spinal surgeries to correct the fractures.

A source told Us Weekly that the funnyman wants his inner circle to “downplay the seriousness of his injuries because he has so many project commitments."

“It’s going to take him many months to recover,” the insider added. "It’s going to be extremely long and grueling road to recovery." The source continued, “Everyone is focused on his recovery.”

Following the crash, Eniko shared news about her husband's current state. She assured worried fans that the Wedding Ringer actor was in “good spirits.” She told photographers as she left the hospital, "He's great. He's going to be just fine,"

On September 6, Tiffany Haddish provided an update on Kevin's condition at the Harper’s Bazaar ICONS Party. "He's OK. He's doing fine," Tiffany told Entertainment Tonight. "As far as I know, from the last I heard, he's fine...He’s already walking. He’s good.”

Kevin's Central Intelligence costar and BFF Dwayne Johnson also recently gave an update on the comedian's injuries. He revealed on the first episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show on September 9 that "everything is good." He said, "I spoke with Kevin, I actually refer to him as my son. I connected with him today, and you know what? These things happen in life. And thankfully, he was strapped in nicely to his car seat.”
