Kevin Hart is recovering after undergoing agonizing surgery for injuries sustained in his Labor Day weekend car wreck. The comedian reportedly suffered three spinal fractures and was administered medicine to help with the severe pain.
According to a report, the surgery involved fusing the fractures. Two of them were in the 40-year-old's upper spine and one was in the lower spine.
Though an insider close to Kevin promised that the delicate surgery was successful, the source also explained that Kevin had to be heavily medicated in order to cope with the pain.
For many patients, lower back fractures can result in partial or complete loss of walking and paralysis in limbs. However, the Night School star’s doctors expect him to make a full recovery.
Following his release from the hospital, Kevin will have to endure months of gruelling rehab and physical therapy.
On September 2, Kevin’s wife Eniko also provided an optimistic update on her husband’s condition. She assured worried fans that the Philadelphia native was in “good spirits.”
As OK! previously reported, Kevin and his friends Jared Black and Rebecca Broxterman were all traveling down Mulholland highway when the vintage car they were in veered off the road and careened off a cliff.
Jared was reportedly driving when the accident occurred and, though he and Kevin were seriously injured, Rebecca left the mangled vehicle unscathed.
