Chicago may be a super cute name, but it turns out that's not the name Kim Kardashian initially wanted for her third child! The reality star revealed to Ellen DeGeneres that she actually wanted to name her girl after her grandmother, Mary-Jo Shannon.

"We were gonna name her Jo because my grandma Mary Jo or we were gonna go with Grace and then it was Chicago," she said.

Chicago is Kanye's hometown, which of course is why their baby ended up with that name, despite Kim's fondness of having one syllable names.

As reported, Kim used a genstational surrogate for baby number three, after facing life-threatening complications with her first two pregnancies.

“I have always been really honest about my struggles with pregnancy,” she began. “Preeclampsia and placenta accreta are high-risk conditions, so when I wanted to have a third baby, doctors said that it wasn’t safe for my — or the baby’s — health to carry on my own," she shared on her website at the time.
