Kristin Cavallari may have found her Prince Charming in husband Jay Cutler. But the road to love & marriage wasn't a breeze. The Very Cavallari star opened up about how the couple split right before their wedding because they felt they were too young.

Kristin, 32, revealed to the Daily Mail Australia, "We split because we got engaged really fast. We got engaged after eight months."

"I was 23 when I met him and I knew that I wanted to marry Jay, but some things needed to change," the Laguna Beach star confessed.

Kristin said, "The only way he was going to see how serious I was was if I ended it. I knew in my heart that it wasn't really the end but I just had to do it. It was one of the best decisions I ever made."

The Uncommon James founder started dating the NFL star in August 2010 and got engaged in April 2011. But the duo called off the wedding three months later, until eventually reconciling in November 2011. They tied the knot in Nashville on June 8, 2013.

Kristin and Jay will celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary this June. The pair also share three children, sons Camden Jack, 6, and Jaxon Wyatt, 4, and daughter Saylor James, 3.
