Kylie revealed that she flew with Ara in November 2019, when she took her niece Dream on a helicopter ride for her 3rd birthday.

The Kylie Cosmetics founder posted on her Instagram Stories on Monday, January 27, a photo that featured all nine of the victims who died in the crash writing, “Rest in peace… And prayer to these families. I will still can’t believe this. That was the helicopter I would fly on from time to time with the pilot, Ara. He was such a nice man. She added, “Hold your loved ones close.”

Other celebrities affected by the tragic loss included talk show host, Tamera Mowry, who broke down in tears during the Monday, January 27 episode of The Real as she recalled the time the late NBA star made an appearance on Sister, Sisterback in 1996.

“I met Kobe when we were both the same age, 19,” the actress began. “I remember looking at him. He was so tall. He just started playing for the Lakers and I didn’t know what to expect because you think, ‘This athlete, he came out of high school and now he’s this big shot’ but, I’ll never forget his humility. I’ll never forget his kindness.”

The daytime host continued, “He was so nervous, and he had like one or two lines, but I remember, I was like ‘Dang, he’s so focused’ and my heart just goes out to all the families who have lost their loved ones.”

As OK! reported, on Sunday, January 26, Kobe and his 13-year-old-daughter, Gianna, were amongst 9 victims who were killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, shortly after 10 a.m.

Those lost included Orange Coast College baseball coach John Altobelli his wife Keri and teenage daughter Alyssa, Basketball coach Christina Mauser, and Gianna’s teammate Payton Chester and her mother Sarah Chester. All passengers on board were on their way to Mamba Academy for a basketball practice when the crash took place. Kobe and Gianna are survived by Kobe’s wife Vanessa Bryant, and Gianna’s three sisters Natalia, Bianka, and Capri.
