On Thursday night, November 29, some of the most prominent actors gathered to the 32nd American Cinematheque Award Presentation to honor Bradley Cooper in Beverly Hills, California. Lady Gaga, among many, honored the talented actor and things definitely got a little emotional during her speech — as she fought back tears. The 32-year-old looked stunning in a champagne-colored gown as she took the stage at the Beverly Hilton hotel with her co-star Sam Elliot and gave a touching speech in honor of Bradley.

"I felt comfortable with Bradley—not just because he's a hunk like Sam—but because Bradley is such a kind and loving and real person," she said. "I'm so honored to have you as my friend."

During her tribute, Gaga, born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, opened up about how the American Snipper star helped her open up through her role as Ally in A Star is Born.

"I ran from Stefani for a long time. I put on a superhero cape and called myself Lady Gaga," she shared. "You challenged me to deep dive into a place where I had to see her again, be Stefani again."

The artist then went on to share how grateful she is for the actor. "I'm so grateful to you, not just for making me a better actress, but I've been able to call on you as a friend, and cry and be myself and have you never ever judge me and still respect me as a professional," she said. "I've never had an artistic experience like this before."

Despite shedding a few tears during her speech, Gaga and Bradley, who have been very public about their close friendship since filming A Star is Born, were all smiles before the ceremony.
