Madonna looked directly into the camera while holding onto the “Applause” singer’s face.
Gaga was still dressed in her gorgeous Alexander McQueen gown that she wore during the ceremony.
She held onto her Oscar for the photo, done by artist and photographer JR for TIME. Gaga picked up Best Original Song for “Shallow” from A Star Is Born.
The pic took place at Madonna and Gus Oseary’s Oscars after-party.

The pop icons have had a tumultuous history with one another that dates several years back.
Madonna dissed Gaga’s “Born This Way” track back in 2012, calling it “reductive” after fans pointed out the similarities to her hit “Express Yourself.”
Gaga then called Madonna out in her 2017 Netflix documentary. “I’m Italian and from New York, so if I have a problem, I’m gonna tell you to your face,” she said in the film. “She wouldn’t look me in the eye and tell me that I was reductive or whatever. Telling me you think I’m a piece of s**t through the media? It’s like a guy passing me a note through his friend.”
Their feud appeared to be reignited in 2018 when footage surfaced of Gaga repeating the same line during the press tour for A Star Is Born. “There can be 100 people in the room, and 99 don't believe in you, but you just need one to believe in you," she said in various different ways at press events.
The overused phrase grabbed Madonna’s attention, who posted a video of a 1989 interview in a since-deleted Instagram story where she said, “If there's 100 people in the room and 99 people said they liked it, I only remember the one person who didn't."
