Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian’s marriage may be over, but that doesn’t mean the former NBA star has cut his ex-wife out of his life for good. In a bombshell interview with Life & Style, Lamar revealed that he and Khloe still keep in touch. “I just texted her yesterday,” he told the magazine. While Khloe is currently dating Tristan Thompson — and reportedly on the baby train — Lamar insists he wishes his ex no ill will. And with an upcoming tell-all memoir on the way, Lamar claims Khloe and the rest of the Kardashians’s secrets are safe with him.
“I’m not going to rip them apart,” Lamar said to Life & Style. “They have nothing to worry about.” Lamar’s upcoming memoir is tentatively titled From the Darkness to the Light.
Lamar said Khloe was unfairly criticized following his near-fatal overdose at a Nevada brothel, the aftermath of which was explored on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
“Me and Khloe were communicating on a very high level, and I knew exactly what I was getting into. Anything that was shown was something I was OK with,” he explained, adding that she never pushed him to do reality TV.
Of their spinoff show Khloe & Lamar, Lamar said, “I thought it would be fun and challenging. I like to push things to the limit,” adding that after his overdose, “Khloe was there for me” at his worst.
And while Lamar still keeps in touch with his ex, he isn’t 100% sure how she feels about him these days. “I don’t think she hates me, even though she has every reason to. I definitely don’t hate her,” he shared.
As for his next project after his memoir, Lamar admitted he’d be open to doing another reality show, focused on business, travel, and “making a spectacle.” “With the Kardashians I got to see things in a totally different light. I learned how to deal with people and live spontaneously,” Lamar said.
