The last of Queen Elizabeth's royal corgis, Willow, has died at 14 years old, according to reports. The beloved pet passed away over the weekend after a long battle with cancer. Click through for more details.

Willow's death is monumental, in that it's the first time the Queen hasn't had a corgi in her home since World War II, according to Time.

Her Majesty was rarely spotted without her corgis by her side. She's bred them for nearly 80 years. A lot of fans of the Queen on social media are mourning this great loss and the end of an era.

Queen Elizabeth didn't want to have any more dogs after 2012 because she didn't want to "leave any behind," former royal family advisor Monty Roberts told Vanity Fair.

Before the dog's death, Willow was world famous. The pup starred in the 2012 James Bond skit that opened the London Olympic Games, according to The Daily Beast. A producer told the publication at the time that the royal corgi behaved “impeccably” during the shoot.
