Leona Lewis and her boyfriend of 8 years, Dennis Jauch, confirmed their engagement to PEOPLE on Tuesday, November 28. The singer and her longtime beau first met in 2010 when he was one of her backup dancers.
Leona initially sparked rumors of an engagement in August after she was sported wearing a diamond ring. She continued to post pictures on Instagram with the ring but did not confirm the news until today.
“My heart is singing the happiest song it’s ever sung ??✨?,” she wrote on Twitter.
She continued, “I’m bursting with joy and overcome with emotion that I get to embark on this new adventure with my best friend, my ride or die @dennisjauch. I can’t wait to be your wife ? eeeek wife! What?! Argh!”

Dennis also took to social media and shared on Instagram, “When I first laid eyes on this beautiful human more than 8 years ago, our souls connected in a way, I never knew existed. You have helped me grow into the man I am today & to see you touch the lives of so many, inspires me to become the best version of myself.”
He continued, “You are kind, you are pure - You are compassionate & loving ... and you are quite frankly the most beautiful woman I ever got to lay eyes on. I am happy and proud to announce this next step in our beautiful journey. My wife to be ??.”
