Liam Hemsworth is leaning on his family and friends while he tries to mend his broken heart. About a month after his breakup with ex-wife Miley Cyrus, the actor spent some time with his famous brother Chris Hemsworth and friends on an island in Australia.
Liam, 29, has been trying his best to stay out of the spotlight after his heartbreaking split with Miley, 26.
Chris, 36, took to social media to share a few photos of the family's getaway to "Makepeace Island" — which is a small heart shaped island resort located in the Noosa River on Australia's Sunshine Coast.
Along with Liam and Chris was the Thor star's wife Elsa Pataky and another two couples, April and Luke Mun as well as Leah and Aaron Grist.
Chris, 36, who is reportedly very close with his younger brother, has been trying his best to be supportive of Liam during this hard time in his life.
On August 12, the Marvel actor and his five-year-old son Tristan were spotted getting frozen yogurt with Liam in Australia — just two days after the former couple announced their split.
The next day on August 13, Chris was seen with his brother while he surfed his troubles away.
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” Miley’s rep told E! News in a statement. "Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what's best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy."
Since then, Liam reportedly filed for divorce on August 21 and has addressed the breakup on social media asking for privacy. Miley released a breakup song called "Slide Away" on August 16 and went on a twitter rant a week later, where she denied cheating on Liam.
Cheating rumors emerged after the Disney Channel alum was spotted making out with Brody Jenner's ex-wife Kaitlynn Carter. The singer has been spending quite a bit of time with the reality TV star since her breakup with Liam and is reportedly dating Kaitlynn, 31.
