Liam Payne put his foot in his mouth when he commented on Sam Smith's Instagram that he'd trade his girlfriend, Cheryl, for a hamburger. She obviously did not appreciate that. Click through for details!
The former Girls Aloud member wrote on Sam's photo of an In-and-Out burger that it was the "best." That's when her boyfriend left the rude reply.
"I think I would probably give you away for one of those right now... s***!!" Liam wrote. "Did I just type that out loud?" His comment was met with silence.
Though Cheryl didn't reply, Sam wrote back, "It was GLORIOUS," talking about the burger. He also added a laughing emoji in response to Liam's joke about trading in his girlfriend for food.
It's awkward timing for Liam's joke, considering reports say the couple is leading two completely separate lives.
And the two looked gloomy together at the BRIT Awards recently. Maybe because Liam keeps making comments like this!
