Lindsay Lohan is not impressed with Cody Simpson’s new girlfriend Miley Cyrus. The Parent Trap star claimed that the native Australian (who previously dated Lindsay’s sister Aliana Lohan in 2018) downgraded by dating Miley, 26. Lindsay, 33, took to Instagram and threw major shade at the new couple.
Lindsay posted an old picture of Aliana, 25, and Cody, 22, from when they were together last year. “When you realize you failed. And you settle for less @codysimpson,” she wrote underneath the image. “Family is everything, you won The Masked Singer but you lost on your future.” The “Gold Thing” singer won the Australian version of the singing competition show, where Lindsay served as a judge.
This isn’t the only time Lindsay took a swipe at Cody. The Mean Girls star claimed that she furnished his home in Los Angeles when he was dating her sister. After he broke up with Aliana, Cody appeared baffled when she asked him when he planned on returning the furniture.
Fellow Masked Singer judge Jackie ‘O’ Henderson backed up Lindsay's claim. “So Lindsay bought them a house load of furniture. And then, as soon as they moved in, according to Lindsay, he split up with Ali. And then I think Ali moved out,” she said. Aliana and Cody moved in together in Venice Beach while they were still dating and, reportedly, Lindsay never got her stuff back. It's unclear whether the “On My Mind” singer knew the furniture was from Lindsay.
The Hannah Montana alum split from Liam Hemsworth after eight months of marriage in August. She then had a short-lived fling with The Hills: New Beginnings star Kaitlynn Carter that ended in late September.
Miley and Cody sparked romance rumors on October 3 when they were spotted making out in a grocery store in Los Angeles. They became Instagram official on October 8 while the “Don’t Call Me Angel” was hospitalized for tonsillitis.
Cody and Miley already got approval from their respective mothers, and the “La Da Dee” singer can’t help but gush over the Bangerz hitmaker. “I’m very happy. We are very, very happy,” Cody told People about his new girlfriend on October 12. “She’s creative. She’s very passionate about what she does, and I’m very similar in that sense,” he added.
