Lionel Richie is clearly putting family first, and what better place to do that then down under! The American Idol judge was spotted with his daughter Nicole, her husband Joel Madden and his grandkids Harlow and Sparrow for a fun day on a boat in Australia on Tuesday. Nicole, Lionel, Harlow and Sparrow joined Benji and his brother Joel (who form the band Good Charlotte) in Australia, as the two are currently on tour there.
Lionel looked to be having an absolute blast as he enjoyed a red drink of sorts next to his daughter Nicole.
The entire brood was enjoying themselves on and off the boat, as Harlow was getting her surf game on with a friend at sea.
Sparrow looked to be getting in on the aquatic adventure as well, as granddad Lionel gave one of his friends a special handshake after they all got back on board.
They all got together later on in the day for what looked to be a massive feast. Why wasn't Sofia at the family table though?
Could it be the reported problems that he has with her much older boyfriend Scott Disick? An insider told OK! exclusively that Lionel was furious with him after he said that Sofia was "future wife material." "Lionel called Scott right away and said flat-out, ‘You will never marry my daughter,’” the insider revealed. “He added that he can’t wait for the day when Sofia comes to her senses and walks away — and he guaranteed that she would.”
