It was a big day on The Real on February 17. Hosts Loni Love, Tamera Mowry, Amanda Seales, Adrienne Bailon and Jeannie Mai celebrated their milestone 1,000th episode! The ladies also gave a special shout-out to ex-cohost Tamar Braxton.
The hosts got very teary-eyed during the celebration and toasted to their years of hard work. "We really are the show that people doubted for a really long time. They never thought that a show like ours that represents women of color and women in general, that a show like ours would make it to the thousandth episode," Adrienne, 36, said.
Jeannie, 41, almost broke down in tears when she discussed hosting a talk show like The Real that is open and personal.
"You also think that when you get a talk show, you think you have to say everything right and you don't want to piss people off," Jeannie said. "You also don't want to expose your life because you aren't doing every thing perfect. We have shared every single thing that we've been through."
Loni, 48, then interjected, "We also want to say something. I want to say Tamar Braxton, you are still our sister. This is your 1,000th episode too."
The Braxton Family Values star, 42, was one of the five original hosts of the talk show when it premiered in 2013. She was then fired from the show in 2016. The Real hosts appeared on the Breakfast Club back in October 2018 and tried to set the record straight on Tamar's exit.
Loni revealed during the radio interview that despite the "Love and War" singer's claims that she didn't get along with the rest of the cast, the hosts were always happy to work with her. "I think she’s embarrassed, she knows the truth. If you don’t like us, if you thought we had you fired, why would you sit with us when we all got nominated for an Emmy?" Loni said at the time. "We all loved her. We were all together with her...we supported her, nobody was jealous."
Loni then clapped back at Tamar when she called The Real a "cute" show during a September 2019 appearance on The Wendy Williams Show.
