Maddie Briann Aldridge is recovering well after her scary ATV accident on Sunday.

Jamie Lynn Spears’ husband, Jamie Watson, took to Instagram to give an update on his stepdaughter’s condition, following Tuesday’s news that she was “awake and talking.”

“Thank you everyone for the prayers. Maddie is doing better and better. Thank y’all so much,” he captioned a photo of sweatpants that read, “believe in miracles.”

As readers know, the eight-year-old was hospitalized on February 5th after she lost control of her ATV while trying to avoid running over a drainage ditch. According to , the ATV flipped over into a lake, which trapped the eight-year-old under water.

Two days after Maddie’s near-drowning experience, the family’s rep released a statement confirming the eight-year-old was on the mend.

“With her father, mother and stepfather by her side, Maddie regained consciousness mid-day Tuesday, February 7,” read a statement provided by People from the family’s rep. “The 8-year-old daughter of entertainer Jamie Lynn Spears was involved in an ATV accident at a family home Sunday in Kentwood, La. Paramedics resuscitated her and she was airlifted to a local hospital. She is aware of her surroundings and recognizes those family members who have kept a round-the-clock vigil since the accident.”

“Doctors were able to remove the ventilator today and she is awake and talking,” the statement continued. “Maddie continues to receive oxygen and is being monitored closely but it appears that she has not suffered any neurological consequences from the accident.”
