Mariska Hargitay is feeling the love, and the warmth of a roaring fire! On October 18, the actress was surprised to find a sweet and cozy surprise after a long day of filming Law And Order: SVU. When Mariska, 55, arrived home, she found a toasty fireplace set and ready to go for some much needed rest and relaxation.
Mariska shared the toasty surprise on Instagram. “Just got home from a verrrry long (and wet) day at work. Look what I walked into?” she captioned a video of a cozy fireplace. "#JustWhatINeeded #MyFavoriteThing #FallFeels #AreTheHolidaysAreAlreadyHere?” she finished the caption with a praying hands, fire and dancing emoji.
Fans loved the cozy fire and commented on the video. “I bet your wonderful husband Peter Hermann did that for you,” one follower commented. “So cozy, have a lovely relaxing evening,” another chimed in. “You deserve it,” a third wrote with a string of heart emojis.
Mariska has been working especially hard filming Law And Order: SVU. This year marks the record-breaking 21st season of the crime drama, which makes it the longest-running primetime series on television ever. The actress has portrayed the famous detective Olivia Benson since the series inception in 1999.
When the news broke that SVU was renewed for another season earlier this year, Mariska could not contain her excitement. "20 years ago, we started a conversation. We're not finished," Mariska tweeted at the time. "I'm profoundly proud of how far we've come. Prouder still of how far we'll go. We've all broken this ground together."
The ER veteran said she got “chills” when she originally read for the role of Olivia Benson at an audition over 20 years ago. “I read the script and I just—I knew in my gut that I had to do this role. I had never been so excited about it," she revealed. "I read it and just, you know, chills. And I knew I had to do it."
