Meghan Markle visited The National Theatre on January 30 as her first official visit as Patron. The Duchess of Sussex spoke to children involved in the theatre’s apprenticeship programs and even got a private show!

Meghan wore a tight fitted blush-colored dress and showed off her growing baby bump. She covered up with a matching blazer and accessorized with a white purse and beige shoes.

According to the British Royal Family’s website, “The Queen passed on this Royal Patronage to The Duchess, after serving as Patron for over 40 years.”

Schoolchildren from Edith Neville Primary School in Camden performed a play for Meghan that was inspired by War Horse.

Another group of children from National Theatre Public Acts program allowed Meghan to watch as they ran their lines for a production of Shakespeare’s Pericles.

One particular child named Blessing told The Duchess the program allowed her to “discover more about what she could do and gain more confidence,” according to the Kensington Royal Twitter.
