Michael Bublé has cancelled another hosting job in favor of sticking by his family’s side. Despite a recent positive update regarding his three-year-old son Noah’s cancer treatment, the singer has pulled out of hosting this year’s Juno Awards, the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys.
"Our thoughts continue to be with Michael," said Michael Cosentino, Bell Media's senior VP of content and programming. "We respect his ongoing commitment to his family and look forward to working with him again in the future."
Michael and his wife Luisana Lopilato first announced the devastating news about their son’s cancer diagnosis in November on Facebook.
The family announced Noah had “been progressing well during his treatment” in February, but from his latest decisions, it’s clear Michael is still hesitant to leave his three-year-old’s side. He also pulled out of hosting the BRIT Awards in London in January and withdrew from performing at the BBC Music Awards in December.
"The doctors are very optimistic about the future for our little boy," the hopeful parents shared in their February statement. "He has been brave throughout and we continue to be inspired by his courage."
“We thank God for the strength he has given all of us. Our gratitude to his doctors and caretakers cannot be put into words," they said. Michael and Luisana married in 2011 and are also proud parents to Noah's younger brother, one-year-old Elias.
