Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino began his eight-month prison sentence for tax evasion earlier this week and his wife Lauren Pesce is staying strong for her man. She tweeted an emotional note to his fans on his behalf via his Twitter account.

Lauren tweeted a statement on Mike's current prison situation and reassured followers of his well-being.

She tweeted on his account, "Hi Everyone,it’s Lauren. Mike would like to thank all of his fans worldwide for the unbelievable outpouring of love & support."

"We speak everyday & he’s doing great. He’s received thousands of letters, he won’t be able to respond to everyone but wanted to express his gratitude to each and everyone of you," she wrote.

Lauren continued, "Thank you from the both of us; it is truly heartwarming to have this support during this time. Lots of Love, Michael & Lauren Sorrentino."

Fans showered the Jersey Shore star with support when they commented on Lauren's tweet. One follower wrote, "Praying for him #FreeSitch." Fans were happy to hear how well Mike is doing. Another said, "So awesome! Glad to hear he's doing good! Thanks for keeping us fans in loop."
