Miley Cyrus is making light of her eight-month marriage to Liam Hemsworth. On December 19, The Most Famous Artist, aka Matty Mo, updated his Instagram bio and joked that he had plans to marry the “Don’t Call Me Angel” singer next year. Miley, 27, responded by poking fun at her marriage to the Hunger Games star, which ended this past August.
“Upping my manifestation game for 2020 and putting this out there," Matty Mo wrote on his Instagram profile.
"It probably won’t last long ?," the Hannah Montana star responded. "But always down to try, You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take."
Miley and Liam, 29, dated on and off since meeting on the set of the 2009 film The Last Song. The former couple tied the knot on December 23, 2018 in Nashville. Breakup rumors swirled two months before they broke up, but the Bangerz hitmaker shut them down by posting several PDA-packed Instagram Stories.
A rep for the “Can’t Be Tamed” songstress announced their separation on August 10. "Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what's best while they both focus on themselves and careers," the statement read. "They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy."
Less than two weeks later, the Isn’t It Romantic actor filed for divorce on August 21 in Los Angeles, and cited “irreconcilable differences.”
Since their highly publicized split, Miley dated Kaitlynn Carter for several weeks before breaking up in mid-September. She then made her relationship with Cody Simpson Instagram official on October 8. In mid-November, it was reported that Miley and the 22-year-old Australian were taking a break so she could focus on herself after the whirlwind romances.
Miley also received vocal cord surgery recently after a stint in the hospital for tonsillitis this past October. The Disney Channel alum reportedly had vocal cord issues for years and didn’t know about it until then. Her recovery will involve several weeks of silence.
Meanwhile, Liam has since been romantically linked to Dynasty actress Maddison Brown and model Gabriella Brooks. On December 13, he was spotted introducing the catwalk queen to his parents in Byron Bay, Australia.
