Miley Cyrus Honors Victims Of Las Vegas Shooting With Adam Sandler

The world is still trying to wrap their heads around the devastation that took place in Las Vegas Sunday night, resulting in the worst mass shooting in modern American history. People all over the world rallied together to speak out against the horror, and celebrities like Miley Cyrus went on the small screen to make sure their voice was heard. The 24-year-old sang on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and had an unlikely partner as she honored those devastated by the tragedy.

Miley sang a tribute of Dido’s “No Freedom” as Adam Sandler accompanied her and put his guitar skills to use. Miley is appearing on the show all week for her own “Miley Week,” and used Monday night to pay tribute to those killed and injured.

And “No Freedom” isn’t the only song Miley sang, as she closed the talk show with her song "The Climb,” which is a throwback, as she released it for her 2009 movie Hannah Montana.

The lyrics were fitting however, as she sang, in part, "There's always gonna be another mountain/I'm always gonna wanna make it move/Always gonna be a uphill battle/Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose.”

As previously reported, Stephen Craig Paddock, 64, fired shots into a crowd of over 20,000 concertgoers, from his hotel room at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. The victims were attending a country music festival.

Miley took to Instagram ahead of her performance, and said, "In honor of the lives lost, injured and affected by the tragic shooting in Vegas, @fallontonight & I dedicated this show to not only mourning this horrific event but using this platform to encourage unity, peace & hopefulness!"
