The Miss Universe 2018 pageant was filled with tears, drama and some hilarious shade courtesy of Miss Costa Rica who roasted host Steve Harvey during the ceremony Sunday night. Read on to see how it all went down.
Miss Costa Rica, Natalia Carvajal, was one of the 10 semifinalists at the historic pageant that took place in Bangkok, Thailand.
Natalia wasn’t able to advance past that stage, however she did take a shot at Steve’s infamous name flub that occurred during the 2015 Miss Universe ceremony.
Steve asked Natalia on stage if she had any advice for him. Natalia, who happens to be a TV host in her own country, then asked him to come a little closer as if she was telling him a secret.
“If they give you a really, really important envelope, try to read carefully,” she joked as the audience laughed hysterically.
Natalia was referring to the incident when Steve announced that Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez won the Miss Universe 2015 crown when it was actually Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
The Philippines scored another Miss Universe win this year, as Catriona Gray took home the crown for their country.
