Amy Duggar shared a video of herself breastfeeding her son Daxton Ryan in the middle of the night and started to tear up while discussing the experience. The new mom admitted breastfeeding has been hard for her and encouraged other moms to push through!
“So let's be real for all the mamas out there,” Amy, 33, said on November 21 while feeding her baby. “Breastfeeding is hard! Especially when you look over and your husband is sleeping soundly and you’re like ‘ugh!’”
The Counting On star added, “But if you think about it it’s only for a short little time and you gotta treasure every moment even when you’re completely exhausted like I am now.”
Amy has been sharing candid posts on Instagram since she became a mom in the hopes of being transparent with fans. “I hope that my posts and my stories encourage your heart,” she told fans. “I just wanted to give you that encouragement because it encourages myself to keep going and not complain about it.”
The new mom started to getting emotional and attempted to blink away her tears. She told fellow moms, “I hope that you have a great day. Know that you’re a superhero no matter if you formula feed them, breastfeed them whatever. You’re a hero, a superhero because it’s hard to wake up, it’s hard to have them rely on you.”
“It takes a lot out of your body and energy. I just want you to keep on doing it with a smile,” she added. “Just know that I see you, I recognize you and you’re really special. At 4 a.m. when nobody tells you that you’re special, I’m here to tell you that.”
The boutique owner shared another candid picture after she fell asleep during breastfeeding on November 5. “Pretty poses, makeup and photoshoots are great but it's not real. Life isn't perfect and I don't want the people who follow me to think that! So this is the real me, in real-time living my best life! Hot tea in hand, ice water leaned up against me, half-dressed and completely worn out!” she captioned the moment.
Amy also clapped back at a fan on November 20 after she shared a makeup-free photo with her son Daxton. The fan told her she looked pale and unhealthy. “It's called no makeup, no filter... I'm eating just fine thank you though for your concern,” Amy responded.
