Offset Released After Being Detained As Suspect Of Gun Possession At The Grove

Offset was released from jail after he was detained by police at The Grove shopping center in Los Angeles, California on January 29. Law enforcement received a call about a person with a gun inside The Grove parking lot and the Migos rapper was considered a suspect.

Offset, 28, was taken into custody along with three other individuals to be questioned as suspects for gun possession, according to reports. No official arrest was made at the time.

In a fan captured video, the Migos rapper is handcuffed and pushed against a wall by an officer. “I didn’t break the law, man!” Offset shouted before demanding to know why he was being handcuffed. “You gotta tell me now! It’s your job as an officer! You gotta tell me. You ain’t told me s**t!”

Police reportedly recovered two firearms from the scene. Offset was released from jail just before midnight after two of the individuals he was detained with confessed to being the owners of the guns.

“The devil is a lie. I’m covered by the blood of Jesus,” Offset wrote on Instagram seemingly in response to the arrest.

Despite the scuffle at The Grove with an officer, the “Clout” rapper voiced his support for law enforcement taking action. “It’s good. We fixed it up. It ain’t nothing. It wasn’t me, the wrong man,” he told reporters with a big smile as he walked out of jail.

He continued, “Yeah I was treated fairly, no cap. You know they had to do that. Something happened I don’t know, but it wasn’t me though. I’m good.”

Offset also voiced that the incident wouldn’t stop him from going to The Grove in the future. “I love L.A. I get my clothes for my kids from there,” he said. The “Ric Flair Drip” rapper is a father to KultureKodyKalea, and Jordan.

It’s unclear whether Offset was able to make it to his appearance on Skip And Shannon: Undisputed in Miami, Florida following his detainment.
