“I’m thrilled that they’re nominated,” Carson said of the reboot's Emmy nods at an event celebrating the Emmys turning 70 on Monday night. "But it was a little more groundbreaking back when we won an Emmy in 2004." Ouch!

He was, however, quick to add that the TV landscape in general has really evolved the past 15 years. "It’s really having a renaissance right now and so inclusive and diverse," he said.

In 2005, the original Queer Eye for the Straight Guy won the Emmy for outstanding reality program. Carson accepted the award alongside his castmates Ted AllenKyan DouglasThom Filicia, and Jai Rodriguez.

But now the original Fab Five has been replaced by the reboot cast members, Antoni PorowskiKaramo BrownJohnathan Van Ness, Tan France, and Bobby Berk. The gang has quickly shot to fame and is now hanging out with celebs like Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson.

The reboot is nominated for Emmys in four categories Outstanding Structured Reality Program, Outstanding Casting For A Reality Program, Outstanding Cinematography For A Reality Program, and Outstanding Picture Editing For A Structured Or Competition Reality Program.
