Kate Middleton Pays Tribute To The Late Princess Diana By Wearing Her Favorite Tiara

Kate Middleton and Prince William attended a state dinner to honor King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands on Tuesday. The British royals were both dressed to the nines, but Kate wore something extra special for the occasion. Keep reading for more.

The diamond headpiece is affectionately known as the Lover's Knot tiara. It's sometimes referred to as the Cambridge Lover’s Knot and is one of the most famous tiaras in the British royal family’s collection.

The mother of three shined in a baby blue Alexander McQueen satin gown and a jewel encrusted pearl necklace. She also wore pearl drop earrings that also belonged to Princess Di.

The 36-year-old's crown is over a 100 years old and has been with the Royal Family since 1914. Kate also sported the bling at diplomatic receptions in 2015 and 2017.

But the crown wasn't the only piece of bling shining at the dinner. Her necklace glittered on her neck and has quite a bit of history attached to it. The neckpiece dates back to 1863, when the future King Edward VII had it made as a wedding gift for Princess Alexandra of Denmark.
