Porsha Williams, Phaedra Parks and Shereé Whitfield are flexing their more socially conscious side as they prepare for the debut of The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Season 8, joining Congresswoman Frederica Wilson’s efforts to commemorate the fact it has been over 500 days since 300 Nigerian school girls were abuducted by the Boko Haram.

In an op-ed she wrote for the Sun Sentinel on Aug. 26, Wilson sent out a call to action, requesting that people help her launch a social media campaign to mark the 500-day anniversary of the kidnapppings on Aug. 27.

“I ask America to join me in creating a Twitter storm to commemorate the 500 days of mystery surrounding the missing Chibok schoolgirls. Tweet messages of hope and peace. Tweet prayers and blessings for the families and words of consolation for everyone involved,” she wrote. Wilson continued, “During my first visit to Nigeria last June, I was inspired by the "Bring Back Our Girls" movement and the courage displayed by the activists and the girls' families, who have spent 500 days making sure their girls are not forgotten. Their constancy and faith have been galvanizing. That is why I promised to lead the effort to #BringBackOurGirls in the United States.”

Whitfield also uploaded a photo of the girls holding the signs -- which appeared to have possibly been taken during the girls’ trip to Washington, D.C., for the Million Man March in October.

And Williams, Parks and Whitfield’s contribution to raising awareness about the movement has been a hit among RHOA fans, with many of them taking to social media to praise the trio for setting aside the drama for an uplifting cause!
