Although pregnant Malika Haqq and baby daddy O.T. Genasis were spotted bonding together, the reality star is fine with handling family business by herself! According to Us Weekly on Tuesday, October 29, a source revealed that Malika, 36, will not force O.T., 32, to be in their baby’s life.
The insider claimed that Malika wants to ensure that O.T. does his part without being pushed. “Malika didn’t want to make O.T. part of her pregnancy journey unless he wanted to be involved,” the source said. “They are talking and feeling it out. He’s been getting more involved as her pregnancy has progressed.”
After the former couple were spotted getting manicures and pedicures together in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 26, a source noted that the two “definitely seemed very comfortable with each other and were friendly and laughing a lot.”
Prior to their split, the rapper penned an open love letter to Malika. “To the world you may be one person but to me, you’ve become my world. My life has changed with you in it,” he wrote in October 2018. “Before you, I was lost and confused and didn’t know how to let my guard down. You know, I always play you love songs, but now I know what the songs actually mean. I came in thinking I had it figured all out, but you gave me the structure I needed to stay balanced.”
Last month, Malika revealed the exciting news on Instagram. “I listen to my heart, and I’ve decided that the rest of my life will be the best of my life,” she wrote. “I’m pregnant! I didn’t know when, I just knew one day. God said it’s my turn, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the little spirit that grows inside of me. I am yours, baby, and you are mine.”
Following her announcement, the Dash Dolls star’s BFF Khloé Kardashian stated that she was happy for her friend. Malika admitted that she has a strong support system and is looking forward to the new changes in her life.
“A lot of my disciplines and morals and values, that just comes from my mother, the way I was raised, and those are the things that I plan on implementing … but I definitely want to build the kind of mother that I am based around the child that I have,” she said.
