Kate Middleton's entrance into the royal family was relatively smooth sailing, but not every commoner has that luck. Queen Elizabeth's cousin, Prince Ernst-August of Hanover has officially announced his opposition to another wedding that would allow a commoner to join their ranks.
Prince Ernst-August, Jr. is set to marry Russian commoner Ekaterina Malysheva in just two days, in a huge, lavish ceremony.
His father figured it would be a great time to OPPOSE THE MARRIAGE!
“The decision was not easy for me because it concerns my son,” he explained to a German newspaper. “But I am constrained to preserve the interests of the House of Hanover and the property, including cultural property, which has been its property for centuries.”
“I continue to hope that my son will eventually think of the best interests of our family and yield.”
Fat chance! Junior has no intention of calling off his wedding bash, which is expected to draw throngs of royal guests, including his half-sister Princess Alexandra, Prince Caroline's daughter. In fact, the pair has reportedly already tied the knot in a small, courtroom ceremony.
