Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Dazzle The Crowds On Their First Royal Work Day!

It has been an unbelievable whirlwind for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who have been the talk of the world over the past week since it was announced that they are engaged.  Four days after revealing the big news, the happy couple enjoy their first public outing where they received well-wishes from several locals and she got her first true taste of what it’s like to be a royal.

They headed about 125 miles outside of London to a town called Nottingham, where they attended a World AIDS Day charity fair hosted by the Terrence Higgins Trust and visited a local school.

Meghan looked “royal ready” in her navy blue peacoat and Strathberry handbag (which is already sold out) while Harry looked simply dashing in a similarly colored suit.

The official Kensington Palace Twitter handle revealed that this was Meghan’s first time in Nottingham, whereas Harry has visited several times and was delighted to be introducing the city to her.

The massive crowds lined the streets outside the National Justice Museum, where the newly engaged couple warmly greeted them.  As Meghan shook hands with the locals, she would say “Hi, I’m Meghan!"

Looks like Harry has a great sense of humor, as someone in the crowd asked him what it was like to be with someone like Meghan “as a ginger.” His response? "It’s great isn’t it … unbelievable!”

Harry and Meghan’s visit was due to his passion on raising the awareness of HIV/AIDS and preventing youth crime.  The couple spoke with people who work for The Terrence Higgins Trust (the largest voluntary sector provider of HIV and sexual health services in the UK) as a way to educate themselves on helping people with the disease.

They also visited a local school called Nottingham Academy, where they discussed the work he is doing with his program called Full Effect, which helps prevent young people from getting involved in crime.  It was here that they were treated to a kickboxing session and a hip-opera performance by the local school!

Looks like Meghan and Harry’s first public outing was a successful one indeed.  Who knows what the next one will bring them?
