Meghan Markle got her first taste of a royal Christmas on Wednesday! The American actress joined her fiancé Prince Harry, as well as 50 of his closest relatives, for the Queen’s annual pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace. Click through for more details on Meghan’s first date with the royals!
Meghan and Harry were spotted arriving together at the palace. Like a true gentleman, the royal redhead drove the couple from their home of Nottingham Cottage to the Queen’s London home, just a few minutes away.
Meghan and Harry arrived shortly after Prince William and Kate Middleton, whose children Prince George and Princess Charlotte sat in the backseat with their nanny, Maria Turin Borrallo.
Prince Charles, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Princess Anne, Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, and Zara and Mike Tindall were all in attendance as well.

Meg’s lunch with the royal family comes just a few days before she joins them for their annual Christmas festivities at the Queen’s Sandringham estate this weekend. Her invite to the exclusive family gathering marks a major departure from tradition. A royal fiancée has never been invited, not even Kate in 2010!
This is Meghan’s second Christmas event with the royals. Last week, she joined Harry and the Queen at the Christmas party for the Windsor Castle staff. Harry and Meg will wed at the castle in May 2018.
