Comedians everywhere are mourning the sudden and tragic loss of one of their own, Ralphie May. The Last Comic Standing season one runner up, 45, was found dead at a “private residence in Las Vegas” on Friday morning, his team said in a statement. The comedian, who also starred in a series of his own Netflix specials, had been suffering from pneumonia in recent weeks and had cancelled shows as he recovered. His team revealed his cause of death was cardiac arrest. The sudden loss of the comedian has shocked the comic world, and several celebs, including Kevin Hart and Bob Saget, have taken to social media to praise Ralphie for his “hilariousness and kindness” in the wake of his tragic death.
Kevin tweeted, "Wow....I was just told that Ralphie May passed. I'm truly saddened by this. He was a good dude. Heaven just got another funny angel RIP man."
"Such a funny mofo," Bob wrote on Instagram. "Will miss you and your hilariousness and kindness Ralphie May."
"I'm at a loss for words to hear about the passing of comedian Ralfie May," Gabriel Iglesis wrote on Twitter. "He was a friend to many and a father of 2 beautiful children. RIP." Ralphie is survived by his wife Lahna Turner and their two children, daughter April, 10, and son August, 8.
"I'm so sad right now. Such a great guy. Rest well, friend," Damon Wayans Jr. tweeted.
Ken Jeong credited Ralphie with launching his career, tweeting that he got him into The Laugh Factory and introduced him to fellow comedians. He called Ralphie "genuinely the nicest most encouraging person you could meet. Always unconditional love from him."
Larry Whitney, aka Larry the Cable Guy, also called Ralphie "one of the nicest and kindest out there." "I'll miss knowing he's not out there anymore," he tweeted.
