The long-term impacts of the ongoing deportation battle for Joe Giudice are starting to hit home. Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa recently revealed how upsetting it will be for her husband to leave his daughters during formative years of their lives. Joe was granted permission to continue living in the US in May, and the Giudice family let out a sigh of relief. However, mixed emotions still stand with a final ruling looming, especially from the strong matriarch.
According to a video shared on Bravo Insider, Teresa started to realize the impact of Joe’s absence in their daughters’ lives. “If he gets deported, he’ll never be able to go to their graduations, celebrate their birthdays, anything,” she said. “He’s going to be missing out on so much.”
“The girls adore their father and no child should have to go through what my daughters are going through,” she continued. “They should have their daddy here.”
In 2013, Teresa and Joe were both indicted upon accusations of hiding their fortunes in a bankruptcy filling. Teresa served 11 months of a 15-month prison sentence for fraud, and Joe began his immediately afterward, serving 41 months for mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud.
In October 2018, a judge ruled that Joe was to be deported to Italy after serving in prison, since he never obtained US citizenship.
However, in March, Joe was moved to an ICE custody facility in Pennsylvania that houses immigrant detainees upon his release from prison. There, he awaits a final decision on whether or not he will be allowed to stay in America.
Since then, Joe, his family, and his attorney have been fighting to keep him stateside, including a plea to the government.
Teresa and Joe have four daughters together – Gia, 18, Gabriella, 15, Milania, 14 and Audriana, 10. “When you’re a mom and your children are hurting, it just kills you so much,” Teresa lamented in the video. “If I could take any of this pain away from them, I wish I could."
