‘Real Housewives Of New Jersey’ Star Dolores Catania Is Moving To New York City

Dolores Catania will soon be waking up in the city that never sleeps. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star announced that she is relocating to New York City.

“I got an apartment in the city,” Dolores, 49, told Page Six at Dolce Aesthetics NY‘s beauty mixer. “I always dreamed about living in the city,” she gushed. The reality star plans to move to the Financial District in May.

Dolores’ new digs will also be home for her son, Frank Catania Jr. The 21-year-old has an upcoming summer internship at investment bank Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. She previously told the publication that her son will be working 16-hour days, so she plans on using the apartment as a place to host friends. “Frankie’s not going to be there,” the reality star said. “There’s a rooftop, and I’m, like, ‘Whoa. I’m going to have friends over.’ I’ve never had that before.”

As RHONJ fans may recall, Dolores’ ex-husband Frank Sr. is building a house for her boyfriend David Principe in the current season of RHONJThe trio moved into Dolores’ home together after filming wrapped until David’s home is ready. Even though that the new house is expected to be all set soon, Dolores is still hesitant about shacking up with her boyfriend.

“David will probably be moving into his house, like, this week,” she told Page Six, adding that she won’t be moving in with him because she is “finally just getting used” her "freedom.”

“The first half of my life was for everyone: my kids, my family, my ex-husband, anybody who was in my life,” Dolores explained. “Before I have that again, I would like to get to know myself better. I’m working with a shaman. I’m doing a lot of spiritual stuff. I’m a devout Catholic, but I think there’s so much more to learn, and I want a clear mind before I make any other decisions in my life."

When asked if David’s reluctance to pop the question influenced the reality star to move to Manhattan, Dolores said that there’s more beyond the surface. “It’s not just a ring,” the mother of two dished to Page Six. "I think that even if there was — I think it’s the timing for me. He didn’t. And I’m kind of glad he didn’t because now my mindset isn’t there anymore.”

“I am not single, but not engaged. Not married,” she continued. “I envision walking around. My friend told me that there’s all vendors and stuff by South Street Seaport. I’m going. My boyfriend works seven days a week.”
