Rihanna appears to be enjoying her single life! Shortly after news surfaced that she called it quits with Hassan Jameel, she was spotted out and about with A$AP Rocky.
For their outing, the two musicians, both 31, were caught laughing backstage at the 2020 Yams Day Benefit Concert in New York City over the weekend. The “Fashion Killa” collaborators kept their looks comfy and casual. Rihanna rocked a black leather winter jacket and pulled her hair into a carefree ponytail. As for Rocky, he sported a leather bomber jacket and wore a yellow scarf over his braids.
Over the years, Rihanna and Rocky have shown their support for each other. In honor of the 2019 British Fashion Awards in London, Rihanna and Rocky both rocked custom outfits from the singer’s clothing line, Fenty. While posing on the red carpet together, the two smiled from ear-to-ear.
That same month, Rihanna attended Rocky’s concert in Sweden following his controversial arrest a few months prior.
On Friday, January 17, reports surfaced that Rihanna and Hassan called it quits after 3 years of dating. Since the announcement, Rihanna has yet to speak out about the matter. Prior to their split, Rihanna gushed that she was “of course” in love with Jameel, 31, and wasn’t comfortable discussing marriage plans. The “Work” singer reasoned, “We plan and God laughs, right?”
During their time together, fans assumed that the former couple were headed towards parenthood. During an interview with Essence, Rihanna spoke about the idea of having children. “I’m a black woman. I come from a black woman who came from a black woman who came from a black woman and I’m going to give birth to a black woman. That’s who I am. It’s the core of who I am in spirit and in DNA. And I always stand up for what I believe in and who I love and who I know, who I respect,” she said at the time.
Aside from her single status, Rihanna is hard at work. She is currently wrapping up her ninth-studio album, R9, which will be reggae-infused.
