Was The Empty Seat At The Royal Wedding Meant For Princess Diana?

Social media was quick to take notice that there was an empty chair during the wedding between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on Saturday. Was it meant for his late mother, Princess Diana, or was there another reason for it not being taken?
Meghan and Harry were married on Saturday afternoon at St. George’s Chapel inside Windsor Castle.
The seating arrangements for several of the royal family members left social media quite confused, as there was an open space next to Harry’s brother Prince William during the ceremony.
Many of them speculated that it was to honor William & Harry’s late mother, but a source told E! News that it was for a much different reason.

Turns out it was allegedly left vacant because their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, was right behind it.
The Queen herself had a busy day with the wedding, as she not only attended but hosted the luncheon shortly after where Elton John himself performed.
